Léa Kristmanson creates atmospheric and ethereal oil paintings that capture the shifting light, tides, and moods of the Bay of Fundy. Working in large-scale canvases and works on paper, her practice explores landscape as both physical place and inner experience. Recent series such as Nautical Twilights evoke the quiet drama of coastal horizons at dusk. Based between Ottawa, the Bay of Fundy, and Edinburgh, Kristmanson’s work has been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
